Stacy B. Rubel, a partner at The Virgil Law Firm, was born and raised in Miami prior to attending the University of Florida for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Ms. Rubel obtained her B.A. in Political Science and Criminology, with a minor in Education, and received her J.D. from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law.
During the summer following her first year of law school, Ms. Rubel interned at the Dade County Legal Aid Society. During the summer following her second year of law school, Ms. Rubel clerked for both the Honorable Judge Norman Gerstein and the Honorable Judge Ellen Leesfield in Miami. While in law school, Ms. Rubel also interned with Three Rivers Legal Services in Gainesville and with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Victim Advocate Unit.
Ms. Rubel concentrates her practice on Probate and Trust Administration and Litigation, as well as Guardianship Administration and Litigation. She represents personal representatives, trustees, guardians (both professional and non-professional), beneficiaries and creditors in probate, trust and guardianship matters. She litigates adversary claims including, but not limited to, will contests, disputes over appointment of fiduciaries, removal of fiduciaries, breaches of fiduciary obligations, tortious interference with right of expectancy, elective share disputes, and elderly exploitation.
